The Threetles

We're The Threetles - Adam Dawson, James Brown, and Andy Bowen. We live in York and together we make up a trio playing all the great music from the Beatles catalogue. The three-part lineup gives a well-structured balance to the band; three voices, three guitars (plus occasional piano) and no intrusive drumming to drown out the subtleties of the music when performing live (no offence Ringo!). Plus, it also allows us to fit into more intimate venues.

We are three guys who love the music of The Beatles. We grew up with it. It's why we picked up guitars in the first place and without them, we probably wouldn't be playing live music at all! It has shaped our own musical journeys and styles and we decided it was time to do something we all loved: to celebrate the great music by really getting inside it, learning the complex harmonies, exploring the sounds used by The Beatles and learning some of their songwriting craft by reproducing the songs live.

The three of us go back a long way. Adam was in one of his first bands with Andy and they became great friends (Andy was even Adam's best man), and Adam also knew James from school (albeit as his English teacher!). But it's the music that brings us together and we're never happier than when we're playing Beatles songs, learning Beatles songs or just talking about Beatles songs!

Our latest venture has been to follow in the footsteps of the Fab Four and actually record an album of all-original Beatles-inspired songs at the legendary Abbey Road studios. We enjoyed this so much that we've actually spun-off into a side project just for our original material.
